Event Details

Los Angeles Public Library is excited to invite you to two new exhibits that explore the Civil Rights Movement, “For All the World to See: Visual Culture and the Struggle for Civil Rights” and “A City Engaged: Los Angeles During the Civil Rights Era.” Both are on display now through May 25, 2018 in Central Library’s Getty Gallery, 630 W. 5th Street, downtown Los Angeles.

The exhibits show how gripping images and television coverage played a crucial role in igniting important ideas about social equality and advancing civil rights in America’s history. Also, images culled from the library’s photo collection for A City Engaged, show the part Los Angeles played in the civil rights movement.

The exhibits are free and open to the public during library hour, please see attached or visit lapl.org/fatwts.
