Charlette R. Starkey

CHARLETTE STARKEY currently sits on the Executive Board as the Corresponding Secretary.  She has been a Board Member since 2017 and a LAABP Member for 22+ years. 

Charlette has chaired the Election Committee, presented at the training seminars, is a member of the Executive, Social Media, Communications, Special Events, and Scholarship Committees, and was an honored recipient of LAABP’s Trailblazer Award in 2011. 

Charlette worked for the Personnel Department as a Senior Personnel Analyst II and worked for the City of Los Angeles for 32.8 years. Charlette retired from the City of Los Angeles in June 2019.

She’s involved with LAABP because she believes that each member has an obligation to assist and mentor employees as they navigate their careers within the City. 

To Charlette, our motto “Together we can accomplish what none of us can do alone”, means simply “each one REACH one. Always provide a means for others to follow in our footsteps to attain their goals.”  

Her personal interests include physical fitness, spending time with family and friends, watching movies, reading, and traveling.
